Cheesecake! And homemade nut butters!

ImageI had a go at a dessert! Now readers… I’m no chef… This whole experience for me is about being healthy… Happy and cruelty free! I liked meals I can make it no longer than 15mins and people would rave about the taste. So I had a true Aussie go… And gave this ‘Guilt Free Nutella Cheesecake’ a shot! I couldn’t find any hazelnut butter at the shops! So I decided to make my own! Remember I told you to buy a food processor? Go and do it now…!…. I’ll wait…. You got one? Good! Because to make a nut butter all you do is put a cup of a skinless nut of your choice into the food processor and blend until the nuts turn into liquid! Took me about 7 mins and this is the result! I’m going to start making my own nut butters from now on!




Super easy burritos!



So just decided to get a bit creative… Didn’t have much in the fridge… Not much in the cupboard. I noticed I had a cucumber and half a capsicum… So I thought let’s do an awesome burrito! Big problem… No wraps!… No worries! Lettuce wraps!

 Lettuce Wrap Burrito


  • 1/2 capsicum roughly chopped
  • 1 garlic clove crushed
  • 1 onion diced
  • Coconut oil
  • Can red kidney beans (other beans work)
  • Jalapeno peppers as many as you can like
  • 2 cups cooked rice (I used brown)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cummin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coriander
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • Lettuce leaves for serving


In a frying pan, heat a spoon of coconut oil! Add the onion, Jalapenos, garlic and capsicum and cook for about 2 minutes on high heat. Add the beans (drained) and the cooked rice. Stir in the spices and cook for a further 3 minutes! Spoon into lettuce leaves and top with cucumber.


Bloody easy! And just thrown together! Of course if you have wraps, or tacos you can substitute for the lettuce leaves… But they really made them quite fresh! let me know in the comments below how you went and if you changed anything

Eat more Avos! try my not-quite-guac!


I’m a sucker for avocados.. It’s funny, I never was.. eating something green and with that oily texture really put me off… But now, one of my favorite things is a bit of Vegemite, on some homemade sourdough with avocado (don’t forget the pink salt!). One thing I have been doing lately is making a heap of avocado spread (not-quite-guac) and adding it to many of my meals to give me those good oils!

Super simple my friends! if you don’t have a food processor buy one! seriously… I make whole meals in these things in less than 1 minute! in fact, I want to put together a bunch of my favorite 30 second recipes! starting with this one!

Not quite guac


  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 garlic clove
  •  Juice of 1 lemon (debatable, I use more, but friends who use my recipe add less, start with 1 lemon and adjust id like some feedback on this)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon pink salt


Throw all ingredients into the food processor and whip it up! you might have to scrape down the sides 10 seconds in! but this whole process should take 20 seconds! you this for chips, spreads, wraps, salads! seriously… use it everywhere!



Get off the teat, make your own milk!

If I had a dollar for every person saying I’m less of a man for being vegan… I could of funded my own TV show instead of this blog. I find it quite funny how eating meat and dairy has become synonymous with being a ‘Man!’ please… tell me again how sucking on another animals breast milk makes you a man? Dairy milk has been associated with lots of health concerns, and without getting into too much debate now, I’m going to show you how even the laziest Aussie guy can make their own milk substitute as quick as it would take them to find their keys, wallet, phone and head to the shops for a litre of cows pus.

Simple, quick, Almond milk


  • 1 cup of almonds
  • 4 cups of filtered water
  • teaspoon of sugar (brown, raw, honey, stevia, date sugar) (optional)


Soak almonds in a cup of water before you go to bed. Drain the almonds the next morning, they will be fat and full of water. put the plump almonds into a blender and add 3 cups of filtered water and sugar (if using). blend for 2 minutes. pour liquid through a sieve and you have your own almond milk…

Yes… It’s that easy… and bloody delicious! I make my own curries and I use my almond milk in them. So i don’t even strain out the husks anymore!

What the hell am I doing this for?

To anyone and everyone who stumbles across this blog. I write to you frustrated… Being Australian, male and vegan is seen as being less of a man… Throw cooking in the mix and you’re a bona-fide pansy! Well I want to reach out to everyone who has made the switch from eating less animal products/no animal products! You’re stronger and more in tune with the world than most! 


In this blog I want to help the lazy, the ‘can’t – be – fucked’, the busy mother of 3, who still want a nutritious vegan meal that gives them all the protein, fatty acids, iron, calcium and flavour they need to not only grow… But to prosper!
